Hello reluctant reader,
The week before the Great Twitter Freakout, I was getting ready to relaunch my newsletter. I write and review emails on a daily basis, but I haven’t done one for myself in over two years. UNTIL NOW.
If you like what you read, or just want more emails junkin’ up your inbox, I’d love it if you could subscribe to stay in touch!
As a means to chase my stubborn passion for scribing comics professionally, I’ve decided to offer a nice exclusive to welcome you. But first…
Rootless Coffee Co. got into Meijer! The big midwestern grocer is now carrying A Damn Fine Cup Of Coffee and DARK. That means Craig Horky and Kelly Williams art is gracing the coffee aisle in 30 or so stores. Pretty rad, huh? See also: mustaches.
Now back to comics. I Think I’m Done is a Western-themed mini comic I wrote for an anthology that may or may not ever see the light of day. I really love my story, and more so, the collaborators who helped bring it to life. So it’s time to give it some eyes.
Fabian Lelay is an incredible artist, and a dear friend. Whenever I’m on tour in New York, we go for walks around the city so he can criticize my lanky speed-walking.
Fabi Marques is a next-level colorist. We met years ago when my band was touring in Brazil and reconnected nearly a decade later. I was flattered to have her join this crew.
DC Hopkins is my go-to letterer. A solid human being, a versatile artist, and we share a mutual love for Twin Peaks. We’ve worked on a few projects now.
Without further adieu, here’s my Red Dead Redemption-flavored Western that may or may not hint at how I feel about my past life in the music industry. Finally finding solace in silence after always fighting for more noise.
But unlike the title I Think I’m Done, I feel like this may be the new beginning I’ve been looking for.
Enjoy:
There you have it! Getting this finished comic back warmed my cold, dead heart.
I have a feeling there’s some other fun stuff cooking. You’ll just have to wait and see.
If you like what you’ve read, please share this with your friends or leave a comment!
